This summer, I have the amazing opportunity to work with John, Lisa, Julie and Tracy at Wine Maestro. I am working towards gaining the wine knowledge to earn my Sommelier Level 1 certification and their collective expertise and having the ability to taste and interact with a wide variety of wines has expanded my understanding and love for the wine world. When I taste a great wine, I get excited. I want to share it. I have been able to taste wines here that help me understand what a great wine is.

During one of my first weeks on the job, John, Lisa and Tracy invited me to share a bottle of 2016 Groth Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon. We were celebrating a big purchase at the wine shop and what better way to celebrate than to experience the nuance, surprise, subtlety, and expression of a great wine that hits you on an emotional level and leaves you without words to express how it feels to drink it…. with people who share that feeling with you. Since that first week, I’ve tasted so many beautiful wines and wine flights that Lisa puts together. Each time I try a new wine, I learn something and I appreciate both the simplicity and the complexity of wine. I am energized when I learn more and I am inspired to teach and convey what I know and feel about wine. I am excited to share my favorite Vineyard stories, wines and explorations with you.
